Accessibility Statement

Last updated: September 7, 2026

Arc & Ledger wants this site to be usable by everyone, including people who browse with a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, rely on captions, or need larger text and higher contrast. Tax information is consequential, and a page nobody can read is a page that does no work.

1. The standard we work toward

We aim for the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at conformance level AA. We describe this site as partially conformant: we build against that standard and test as we go, but no independent third-party audit has certified the whole site, and we would rather say so than claim a conformance level we have not verified.

2. What we have built in

  • Semantic headings and landmark regions, so screen readers can navigate page structure rather than a wall of text.
  • Keyboard-operable navigation, forms, and menus, with visible focus styles on links and buttons.
  • A light and dark theme, both with color choices reviewed for text contrast.
  • Text alternatives on meaningful images, and decorative images marked so assistive technology can skip them.
  • Labeled form fields on our contact, quote, and intake forms rather than placeholder-only inputs.
  • Motion that respects the operating-system "reduce motion" setting, so animations stop for people who ask them to.
  • Layouts built with relative units, so browser zoom and enlarged text do not clip content.
  • Automated accessibility linting in our development pipeline, which blocks a release on the rule violations it can detect.

3. Known limitations

We would rather name the gaps than imply there are none. As of the date above:

  • Some interactive calculators present results in tables and charts that are harder to follow by screen reader than the surrounding prose. Every figure a calculator produces can also be obtained by contacting us directly.
  • Downloadable PDF guides are generated documents and are not all fully tagged for assistive technology. We will provide the content of any guide in an accessible format on request.
  • Third-party embeds we do not control, including the appointment scheduler and payment checkout pages, follow their own providers' accessibility practices. If one of them blocks you, we will complete the same step with you by phone or email.
  • Some older guide pages predate our current templates and have not been re-tested end to end.

4. Getting service another way

No accessibility barrier on this website should ever stand between you and your tax work. If any part of this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, contact us and we will handle the same request directly, at no additional cost. That includes booking an appointment, receiving a quote, submitting documents, reviewing a return, and receiving deliverables in an alternative format such as large print or an accessible electronic document.

5. Reporting a problem

Please tell us what happened, the page you were on, and the browser or assistive technology you were using. Specific reports are the fastest way for us to fix something.

We aim to respond to accessibility reports within two business days. If a fix will take longer than that, we will tell you how we can get you the information or service in the meantime.

6. How this statement is maintained

We review this statement when we make substantial changes to the site and at least once a year. It was last reviewed on the date shown above. Related policies: our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
